Lovable Labels Review

Lovable Labels Review

I was given the opportunity to review the Back to School Collection from Lovable Labels. Lovable Labels is a FABULOUS Company based out of Ontario Canada. Lovable Labels was started in 2003 by mom Laura Porreca.

As a teacher I know the importance of sending your child to school with ALL of their belongings labeled. When I send out the school supply list to my incoming first graders I stress the importance of labeling all school supplies as well as backpack, lunch pail, coat and any clothing their child could remove in class. Some parents listen to me, but most do not. Those who do not label are the first to call me.… “Little Liam lost his favorite blue hooded sweatshirt, have you seen it?” Ummm is it labeled? No? Ok let me go dive waste deep into the lost and found and look for it. I rarely find their lost items.

Lovable Labels are a teacher and mom’s best friend, with SELF STICKING Labels, it is SO EASY!

I was sent The Back to School – Movin’ & Groovin’ pack for this review.

This Back To School Pack included:

•15 Regular Sticker Labels
•40 Slimline Sticker Labels
•72 Press n'Stick Clothing DOTS
•12 Shoe Labels
•2 Mini-Metal Tags (two 4” silver ball chains included)
•12 Square Labels

I really liked how the labels came all together in one adorable envelope size package.
They are so easy to keep track of.

The Slimline Sticker Labels are PERFECT for pencils! They are not very good on your electronic pencil sharpener so I would recommend placing the label closest to the eraser.

Lovable Labels are Peel and Stick! They were so easy to apply and are dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer safe. I loved testing them out. I had no problem with any clothing labels, they stuck perfectly through several washes. I loved the Regular Sticker Labels for reusable water bottles and the plastic containers I pack for lunch.

Lovable Labels are:
  • Waterproof
  • Dishwasher/ Microwave Safe
  • Laundry and Dryer Safe
  • Sun Safe
  • Bleach Safe
  • Sunscreen Safe
  • Temperature Safe

Brain Pop & Brain Pop Jr.

As a Teacher I come across a lot of AWESOME resources. I am going to try to pass as many on to you as I can. A few weeks ago I introduced you to Storyline Online.
This week I wanted to let you know about this awesome resource.
Brain Pop, Brain Pop Jr. and Brain Pop ESL are all resources that you can use at home.

"Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, BrainPOP creates animated, curriculum-based content that engages students, supports educators, and bolsters achievement. Our award-winning online educational resources include BrainPOP Jr. (K-3), BrainPOP, BrainPOP EspaƱol, and the newly launched BrainPOP ESL. All are supported by BrainPOP Educators, which features free lesson plans, video tutorials, professional development tools, graphic organizers, and best practices for our teacher community."

Each week there are several FREE videos with quiz questions at the end. This week's Brain Pop Jr. video is on The Dentist.

I truly enjoy Brain Pop Jr. When we use it in my classroom it engages my students and reinforces key concepts we are learning.

Storyline Online

I have to share a great FREE resource that I use in my classroom! It is called Storyline Online and it is WONDERFUL.

It is brought to us by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation and it is an online video streaming of SAG actors reading popular children's stories.

Each book read includes activities and lesson plans to go along with it.

As my school year is winding down, it is a great way to share a story.

I don't watch a lot of TV so I had a hard time figuring out who some of the actors are but they make each story exciting for young readers. Be sure to check out Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, it is a favorite among the first graders in Room 174

Here are some of the books available:

Harry the Dirty Dog

To Be A Drum

Guji Guji

Sebastian's Roller Skates

Spohie's Masterpiece

Stellaluna

Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge

No Mirrors in My Nana's House (another favorite)

The Night I Followed the Dog

Thank You, Mr. Falker

My Rotten Redheaded Older Brother

Knots on a Counting Rope

Brave Irene

A Bad Case of the Stripes

Private I. Guana

Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch

The Polar Express

Me and My Cat

Dad, Are you the Tooth Fairy

When Pigasso Met Mootisse

White Socks Only

Romeow & Drooliet

Enemy Pie
