Storyline Online

I have to share a great FREE resource that I use in my classroom! It is called Storyline Online and it is WONDERFUL.

It is brought to us by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation and it is an online video streaming of SAG actors reading popular children's stories.

Each book read includes activities and lesson plans to go along with it.

As my school year is winding down, it is a great way to share a story.

I don't watch a lot of TV so I had a hard time figuring out who some of the actors are but they make each story exciting for young readers. Be sure to check out Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, it is a favorite among the first graders in Room 174

Here are some of the books available:

Harry the Dirty Dog

To Be A Drum

Guji Guji

Sebastian's Roller Skates

Spohie's Masterpiece

Stellaluna

Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge

No Mirrors in My Nana's House (another favorite)

The Night I Followed the Dog

Thank You, Mr. Falker

My Rotten Redheaded Older Brother

Knots on a Counting Rope

Brave Irene

A Bad Case of the Stripes

Private I. Guana

Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch

The Polar Express

Me and My Cat

Dad, Are you the Tooth Fairy

When Pigasso Met Mootisse

White Socks Only

Romeow & Drooliet

Enemy Pie

Thank you so much for your kind mention of Storyline Online! We at the SAG Foundation are deeply committed to children's literacy in our effort to inspire actors not only in their careers, but their communities as well. We hope your readers will find out more about the SAG Foundation's (www.sagfoundation.org) work in this area and help motivate others to pitch in, whether by volunteering or by donation. As we're not an actual part of the Screen Actors Guild but a non-profit organization, we do rely on donations for funding. Thanks again! Rufino Cabang, SAG Foundation Director of Communications
